Vaiva Underys graduated from the physiotherapy program at the University of Western Ontario in 2002. Her keen interest in sport has led her to work with athletes of all ages and abilities. In 2001, she volunteered at the Canada Summer Games where, under the mentorship of a highly qualified medical team, she treated future national level swimmers, volleyball and baseball players. In the last two years she has had the opportunity to provide medical coverage at both Under 18 and Under 16 national tennis tournaments run by Tennis Canada and had the opportunity to assist in a professional women’s event at the Rexall Centre.

Over the last 3 years, Vaiva has been taking courses through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association with the goal of obtaining her Diploma in Intermediate Manual Therapy. She has also completed her Level 1 acupuncture certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.

In her spare time, Vaiva enjoys running, cycling, volleyball, basketball and Ultimate Frisbee. She has competed in several duathlons and ran her first half marathon in the fall of 2006.
