Michele Vinassac holds a bachelor of science in physiotherapy from the University of Toronto and has been a practicing physiotherapist since 1988. Her interest in osteopathy began 15 years ago after attending an osteopathic based workshop on the treatment of pelvic dysfunctions. In view of witnessing positive results from her patients, Michele attended numerous post-graduate courses to hone in on her skills as an orthopaedic manual physiotherapist while pursuing a career in osteopathy.
In 2011 Michele graduated from the Canadian College of Osteopathy and has since taken postgraduate courses to refine her osteopathic skills in assessing and treating musculoskeletal dysfunctions, including cranial courses specializing in the management of post concussion syndrome.
In addition to osteopathy and physiotherapy, Michele has a special interest in Pilates. She recently participated in the Stott Pilates spinal, pelvis, and scapular stabilization mat rehabilitation course (RM1), and incorporates this exercise system in her clinical practice.
Today, she integrates her knowledge of Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, and Pilates to provide a holistic treatment approach thereby helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals.
Michele has extensive experience treating a variety of injuries and conditions including the following:
• neck, low-back, pelvic, and hip dysfunction • entrapment neuropathies and radiculopathies (e.g. sciatica) • acute and chronic pain • MVA related injuries • post concussion syndrome • headaches • TMJ dysfunction • repetitive strain injuries (e.g. wrist, elbow , shoulder) • plantar fasciitis • postural dysfunction • gastrointestinal issues • prenatal and postpartum care • sports related injuries (e.g. ankle, knee)
Michele leads a healthy lifestyle enjoying yoga (meditation and yoga retreats), Pilates, nature walks, hiking and following her interest in healing through proper nutrition.
