Dr. Laura Cruz : Speaker at CS4L conference

On January 20, 2011, Dr. Laura Cruz will be speaking at the Canadian Sport for Life conference in Ottawa. She will be presenting the Canadian Academy of Sport & Exercise Medicine’s (CASEM) position paper on “Abuse, Harassment and Bullying in Sport”. CASEM is a supporter of safe and healthy performance environments for our athletes. The sport medicine community can play an important role in maltreatment prevention. The goal of this position paper is to educate sport medicine specialists on the issues of abuse, harassment and bullying in sport and provide them with strategies to intervene if any issues should arise. It will provide recommendations for the potential role of sport medicine professionals in athlete protection.
