– Occupational Therapist
Sylvia Rogan is an Occupational Therapist who works in the area of hand/upper extremity rehabilitation. She consults, assesses and treats clients with various injuries and conditions of the upper extremity. Sylvia also fabricates custom splints to protect injuries/conditions and/or to promote increased function.
Sylvia graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours BSc in 1993 and then with a BSc in Occupational Therapy in 1997.
She currently works in the Hand/UE program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She is also the Canadian consultant for a prosthetics Company, Touch Bionics, that creates bionic and silicone prostheses for people with upper extremity amputations.
Sylvia is a member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, the U.S. National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapists, a member of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and a recognized Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in America. Sylvia has lectured at several Conferences including the Annual Conference of the American Society of Occupational Therapists and joint Conferences of the American Society of Hand Therapy and American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She was a member of the Toronto Hand Interest Group Executive for three years.
