Emma MacKenzie is a physiotherapist originally from beautiful Prince Edward Island. Emma completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton before earning her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University. Since graduating, she has worked in both private practice and acute care in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she’s had the opportunity to work with many different people—from active individuals recovering from injuries to those looking to regain strength and confidence after surgery or illness. Growing up, Emma spent many years playing competitive soccer, which gave her an appreciation for movement, teamwork, and the physical demands of sport. In more recent years, she developed a passion for running and has completed two half marathons, giving her firsthand insight into both the challenges and rewards that come along with training. These experiences have helped her treat people of all activity levels and reinforce her passion for helping people move with confidence and return to the activities they enjoy most.
Emma believes rehabilitation should be tailored to each individual. She enjoys building relationships with her patients, understanding what motivates them, and creating treatment plans that fit their goals and lifestyle. Whether someone wants to return to sport, keep up with their kids or grandkids, or simply move through daily life with less pain, Emma enjoys helping them achieve those goals. Some of Emma’s clinical interests include treating individuals with running-related injuries and focusing on strength and exercise-based rehabilitation. Emma has completed certification in Level 1 Dry Needling with Acupuncture Canada and enjoys continuing to expand her clinical skills through ongoing education.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll likely find Emma out for a run, trying a new fitness class, or planning her next travel adventure. She loves discovering new restaurants, attending as many concerts and live music events as possible, and exploring new cities. Emma is excited to be joining the Toronto community and looks forward to helping people move with confidence and enjoy an active lifestyle.
