A former competitive soccer player and lifelong sports enthusiast, Dr. Solar Cafaggi understands the physical and mental challenges of injury from both a medical and athletic perspective. She completed her medical degree and Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto before pursuing advanced fellowship training in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Alberta.
Throughout her career, Dr. Solar Cafaggi has worked with athletes at the community, varsity, and professional levels in both Toronto and Edmonton. She has also represented Canada Soccer as Team Physician for the Canada U15 & U17 Women’s National Soccer Team, providing medical care for high-performance athletes during training and international competition.
Dr. Solar Cafaggi has a special clinical interest in regenerative medicine and orthobiologic therapies for musculoskeletal injuries. She performs ultrasound-guided injections, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and viscosupplementation (hyaluronic acid injections), to help manage selected tendon, muscle, ligament, and joint conditions. Ultrasound guidance allows for greater precision during procedures and helps optimize treatment accuracy.

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Solar Cafaggi worked as a healthcare management consultant. She earned a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Translational Medicine and Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, bringing a unique combination of clinical expertise, innovation, and analytical thinking to patient care.
