Occupational Therapist
Sylvia Rogan is an Occupational Therapist who works in the area of hand/upper extremity rehabilitation. She consults, assesses and treats clients with various injuries and conditions of the upper extremity. Sylvia also fabricates custom splints to protect injuries/conditions and/or to promote increased function.
Sylvia graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours BSc in 1993 and then with a BSc in Occupational Therapy in 1997.She currently works in the Hand/UE program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She is also the Canadian consultant for a prosthetics and orthotics Company, Ossur, that creates bionic and silicone prostheses for people with upper extremity amputations.
Sylvia is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, the U.S. National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapists, and is a recognized Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). She is a member of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists. Sylvia has lectured at several Conferences including the Annual Canadian Hand Conference, the Conference of the American Society of Occupational Therapists and joint Conferences of the American Society of Hand Therapy and American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She was a member of the Toronto Hand Interest Group Executive for three years.
